Wear Indicator (WIP) Port

The Aero Accessories TEMPEST AA215 and AA216 series air pumps feature a patented Wear Indicator Port (WIP). When the port plug is removed, it allows an internal visual inspection to determine the vane wear. When the end of the vane closest to the center of the rotor is seen through the small hole in the port area and less than half of the vane is visible, it is time to replace the pump.

The Wear Indicator Port can help identify:

A rapidly-wearing pump

An unexpected pump failure

A costly system problem

A replacement time before in-flight failure
